We collect, save and share stories of places that matter to the people who live and work on and around “the mountain” – Tennessee’s South Cumberland plateau.

Your history. Your story. It could be the site of your grandfather’s homestead, the train tracks that connected the mountain to other places, or the place you were standing when you saw your one true love for the first time.

The mountain and its surrounding valleys are important to many of us.  This project is aimed at sharing a sense of place that comes from the ground up and making ourselves visible: to ourselves, to each other and to broader publics.
